We’re very excited to be able to offer this brand new series from Anita Goodesign. Anita Goodesign Project Collections are collections that include all the instructions you’ll need to make complete projects from start to finish. These Projects aren’t confined to “In the Hoop” either. They incorporate embroidery and sewing in easy-to-follow, step-by-step tutorials with detailed pictures that make the whole process easy while teaching you new and interesting techniques. Each collection also includes a detailed shopping list of everything you’ll need to complete the project.
The embroidery designs are exclusive to the Project Collections. As always, each CD has multiple designs, each in different sizes to accommodate different hoop sizes. You can use these designs with the specific projects or add them to anything else you like.
These Projects are perfect for creating gifts for the holidays (which are right around the corner already). Here are the first four Project Collections:
These designer-inspired clutches feature a new product that gives a unique texture to any fabric. Using your embroidery machine to stitch one of three different design motifs, Stitched Flower Echo, Stippled Monogram Oval, or Stitched Grids, plus your choice of fabric and texture will highlight your personal style. After a little steam from your iron, your ordinary fabric transforms into designer chic. Finish by using your sewing machine to insert a bound zipper, lining with your choice of handle options.
Make three unique stockings with this project collection: Traditional Stocking Shape, Cowboy Boot Stocking, and the Folded Fabric Stocking. There are eight individual embroidery designs, and the folded fabric design comes in 3 sizes. Make one stocking for a quick gift or make a whole set for your family. The fast and easy construction will have you decorating for the holidays by the weekend!
Three unique travel bag projects. Collection includes 23 individually stitched designs. These fun and flirty embroidery designs add an artistic element that turns a plain drawstring bag into a “Chic Accessory”. After making a set to compliment your own suitcase, these bags make quick gifts for your best friends or a bride-to-be!

Have you ever been to an Anita Goodesign Embroidery Party? If you haven’t you are missing out on tons of fun! What better place can you imagine than a room filled with beautiful top of the line embroidery machines surrounded with happy and excited sewing & embroidery enthusiasts? All gathered together in one place to learn and be inspired by one of embroidery’s best, Steve Wilson from Anita Goodesign!
In Everett, this past week the Anita Goodesign Embroidery Party was two days of total fun. There were seven projects to enjoy and everyone left with a CD of all the designs used so we can make as many as we like. Of course, all of the projects were great, but a couple of my favorite techniques that we learned were Three-Dimensional Flowers, a Christmas Stocking completely in the hoop, and Shaped Edge Tea Towels.
Steve brings so many wonderful samples for us to see, touch, and be inspired by, every where you look there is something beautiful. He also gave us a sneak peak of the designs that will be coming out in the next few months—they are really neat!
One of my most favorite things about this Party was getting to meet wonderful folks who love to sew just as much as I do. I came away so energized and inspired. Check out the fun we had in the video below:
If you are unable to attend the Anita Goodesign Embroidery Party on April 28-29th, come visit with Steve Wilson on Saturday April 30th, from 10am to 1pm at the Everett store. Steve will show the newest Anita Goodesign collections and even offer you a sneak peak of what’s coming out soon. He will also teach his “quilt as you go” class and teach you the same technique that he taught at the event. There will be prizes, refreshments and of course specials on all of the Anita Goodesign and Quality Sewing products. Don’t miss the fun! This is an adorable kid’s t-shirt that uses socks as sleeves! It’s a very easy project to create…all you need is a children’s short-sleeved t-shirt, a pair of socks for the sleeves and the Anita Goodesign Little Monsters Embroidery Design Pack.
1. The first step is to center and embroider the monster of your choice onto the t-shirt. Each monster has a thick stitched border that holds the applique down. You can either make this stitch white or the color of the shirt. The example shown is white as it makes the monster stand out even more!
1. Embroider the monster design on the shirt
2. The next step is to take the pair of socks and cut the foot part off the sock at the ankle. Pin the cut part of the sock to the shirt sleeve. Make sure the cut end of the sock extends past the top stitch of the sleeve.
2. Adult sized knee socks work well
3. Stitch the sock to the sleeve. Follow the top stitch that was used to stitch the sleeve hem. You can match the thread to the thread already used on the t-shirt.
3. Stitch the sock to the sleeve
4. You can further embellish the shirt with different types of trims. The finished example has a pom-pom trim and decorative ribbon as added detail. You can also glue googly eyes on the monster for even more fun! You can use a onesie in place of the t-shirt and create a unique and adorable baby gift!
Little Monsters Design Pack
The Little Monsters design pack features 12 adorably mischievous designs geared toward the toddler-youth age group. They look great on these unique sock t-shirts as well as backpacks, blankets, jackets, and even quilts!
