Candice Jewett: Serger Cafe Class - Federal Way

SERGER CAFE welcomes all brands and levels of sergers. The goal of Serger Cafe is to provide projects that familiarize you with the features of your serger and offer projects that demonstrate how much more sergers do than seams or edges.

February's Class Description:
This cute upcycled sweatshirt is a perfect to practice and learn how to rework a ready made garment. You will also embellish with either the Deco Wave or Deco 3 thread wide, learn more or new techniques while working with ribbing and knit and adding a new button loop/closure. Mine will be a vest but it could also be a jacket. You also have the option of making the barrel shaped buttons which I will demonstrate.

Match's Class Description:
Loved by everyone these pillowcases are surprisingly easy to make and are a favorite for any gift giving holiday. Birthdays, weddings, adult or child...everyone loves them. In addition to the 'burrito' method for making the pillowcase you will be amazed at how easy serger 'crochet' is as you 'crochet' the trim directly on the pillowcase. Once you learn the technique you can add trim to anything you want or use the crochet by itself and make a crocheted scarf.

April's Class Description:
Just in time for summer! This is a loose fitting unlined jacket (or it could be a blouse) with shoulder pleats and draped front...similar to what is called a waterfall. Very flattering and comfortable this loose jacket made with a light airy fabric easily moves with you. Raglan sleeve and a back center seam complete the look.

May's Class Description:
Please join us for a project that is fun, fast and easy! Knit leisure pants or pajama bottoms. Nothing is more comfortable than these knit pants that move with you. Great for those lazy days or wear them as pj bottoms. Either way you will learn to work with knits, making an easy elastic casing, hemming technique and more. Whether you wear them to relax around the house, sleep in or both you will be amazed at how easy these are to make when done with your serger. They would also be a future gift idea!
