Candice Jewett: Serger Cafe Class- Tukwila

SERGER CAFE welcomes all brands and levels of sergers. The goal of Serger Cafe is to provide projects that familiarize you with the features of your serger and offer projects that demonstrate how much more sergers do than seams or edges.

Did you find this item priced lower than $30.00 somewhere else? If so, let us know. We strive to match or beat most offers!Yes
The only prerequisite is that your serger be in good working order and you know how to thread it. As always, we also offer free classes if you would like to learn more about threading your serger.

SEPTEMBER: This cute shoulder bag features a large secure zippered pocket with an RFID protected ID pocket inside. In addition, there is another pocket ideal for your tablet. The serger techniques you will use are the belt loop binder with coverstitch, easy zipper installation, deco coverstitch while finishing the tablet pocket with a striking deco rolled edge wave and an attractive serged poppy. This is so convenient that, among other things, I always use mine for traveling. It is perfect for my tablet or e-reader, travel documents, ID, credit cards and so much more.

OCTOBER: With this clutch, you will be adding the perfect finishing touch to either an evening out with your husband, girlfriends or the local charity banquet. The clutch is created from silk dupioni and Heat-N-Shrink stabilizer. Decorative serger chain stitching creates a diagonal grid pattern on the clutch. Coordinating gingham piping borders it. Keeping your essentials secure, the clutch closes with a magnetic purse snap. Using Kari Mecca's Whimsy Sticks, a beautiful ribbon rose embellishes the flap of the clutch giving it the final feminine touch.

NOVEMBER: This class is the perfect choice for anyone who wants a beautiful wall hanging for Christmas and wants to learn more serger techniques. We will be gathering, attaching pearls and piecing...all with the serger!!! A word of warning, family members have been known to ask for the wall hanging or another just like it.

JANUARY: Make a quick, easy and reversible Baby Blanket with your serger using a 4 thread overlock and Martha Pullen's quilt-as-you-go technique. Serging the rows together and then flipping for the next row allows you to have the quilting done while you are sewing the strips together. One side has blocks while the other side has stripes. A decorative 3 thread overlock edge finishes it off! What a great way to use your serger! Note: this is baby blanket size but you could increase the dimensions for a lap quilt or throw. See supply and cutting list for more information.

FEBRUARY: For all your picnics and potlucks this is the perfect insulated carrier for your cold or hot dishes. You will review and/or learn a variety of techniques including the beautiful deco wave stitch. Your own carrier will feature an angled pocket on the outside that is faced with chalkboard fabric. That pocket is perfect for utensils plus you can write notes on the chalkboard fabric pocket...with someone Happy Birthday or simply note the delicacy that you've baked for them. It's always fun to make something you are happy to show off because everyone will be asking where you got it.
