Gail Wax: Art Quilting Workshop 101 - FISH
MEET THE INSTRUCTOR:
Instructor Gail Wax hosts a series of Art Quilting Workshops that progress in complexity and introduce even the beginning quilter to the world of art quilting. Working from photographs, students learn to study and interpret the image, create patterns, assemble fused fabrics to use like paint and paper in creating images, quilt for both security and imagery, and finish for hanging on the wall. Gail is a professional art quilter, having earned a number of show ribbons in California including a second place at Pacific International Quilt Festival in the garments category, and has been showcased in the PIQF "New Quilts of Northern California" exhibit. She has served as staff and as an instructor at Parkland Parish Quilt Shop and at JoAnn Fabrics since moving to Washington. She is a member of CQA, Contemporary Quilt Associates, a professional group in Seattle.
With more than 30 years experience as a classroom trainer, Gail promises she will make sure you feel comfortable with learning this new skill and have fun along the way!
