The goal of Serger Cafe is to provide projects that familiarize you with the features of your serger and offer projects that demonstrate how much more sergers do than seams or edges.

This cute upcycled sweatshirt is a perfect to practice and learn how to rework a ready made garment. You will also embellish with either the Deco Wave or Deco 3 thread wide, learn more or new techniques while working with ribbing and knit and adding a new button loop/closure. Mine will be a vest but it could also be a jacket. You also have the option of making the barrel shaped buttons which I will demonstrate.

The knit leisure pants (could also be a summer pj bottom) are so comfortable and, made with the right knit, extremely flattering. We will be learning seaming, some altering, finished elastic waistband and hemming. If you are making these for leisure they would be great on a cruise or just a warm summer evening. I am recommending that you work with one of the new bamboo knits that so soft, lightweight, anti-microbial, dry quickly and unbelievably comfortable.

This is a great project to make a high style dramatic pillow for any room in the house or a gift. Each tuck is edged in a deco 3 thread serger stitch and then topstitched with a chainstitch to make it 'wave'. They can be diagonal, horizontal or cut into quarters with the direction of the waves alternated.

Liven up your table this Fourth of July with festive red and blue placemats and
napkins featuring a deco rolled edge or a deco wave stitch. Great technique to learn and they will brighten up any 4th of July table.
