Foot #92 is a free-motion foot with a spring-loaded hopper mechanism. Instead of pressing the fabric against the feed dog continuously, it holds the material down during each stitch and lifts between stitches. This prevents the fabric from riding up with the needle (flagging) and ensures clean, even stitching around the eyelet stud.
