Free-Motion Sewing and Fabric Repair
The Pfaff Free-Motion/Darning Foot is a spring-loaded foot for free-motion quilting, darning, and embroidery with the feed dogs lowered. The C-shaped guide wraps around the presser bar and positions behind the needle clamp, keeping the foot stable during manual fabric movement. The spring mechanism lifts the foot slightly between stitches to prevent fabric from lifting with the needle.
Setup
- Raise the needle to its highest position
- Squeeze the foot front and back to insert the pin into the presser foot holder
- Position the C-shaped guide around the presser bar with the arm behind the needle clamp
- Lower the feed dogs and select straight stitch with free-motion mode
Maintain a medium-to-fast speed for consistent stitch length. Sewing too slowly can cause small knots on the reverse side. Compatible with Pfaff machines in Groups A, D, E, F, and G.
