Embroidery Classes

FAQs

What will I learn in a machine embroidery class?

It depends on the class. Beginner sessions like Learn to Embroider on Your Hooped Embroidery Machine cover hooping, design placement, stabilizer selection, and running your first design. More advanced classes focus on specific techniques like cutwork, in-the-hoop projects, freestanding embroidery, or embroidering on specialty materials.

Do I need my own embroidery machine for class?

For in-person classes, yes, bring your own embroidery machine and the embroidery unit. If you don't have a machine yet, contact the store ahead of your class and we may be able to work out having one set up for you to use. On-demand virtual classes can be watched without a machine on your own time, though you'll want one to follow along with the projects.

What supplies do I need for an embroidery class?

Each class has its own supply list, but most embroidery classes require embroidery hoops, stabilizer, embroidery thread, fabric, scissors, and a USB drive for loading designs. Some project-based classes also require specific materials like vinyl, felt, or zippers. Check the supply list on each class listing for the full list before you attend.

Are there embroidery software classes?

Yes, though availability varies throughout the year. You can check out our current embroidery software classes here. Browse our full selection of embroidery software to see what we carry.
