Reva's Tip: Festive Pot Holders
Dress up any kitchen for the Holidays with festive pot holders!
All you will need is two 8" squares of fabric, some batting, and some binding.
Let's discuss some of the particulars:
Size - Make them whatever size that you would like. I make mine 8"
Design - Use a fabric that you like or make them more festive by using a quilt block as the focal fabric. I thought it would be fun to put a couple of Christmas style blocks together from the "Christmas Quilt Builder Deck." This is creativity in a box! There are so many fun quilt block ideas and each has the cutting instructions for multiple sizes of blocks. Worked out perfectly!
Batting - I like to use two layers of thin batting. One Warm & Natural cotton batting and one that is heat resistant like Floriani's Hot 'n' Cold Barrier Fleece. The Hot 'n' Cold Barrier Fleece will both protect your hands from the temperature of a pan and also the countertop when used as a trivet. I always like to have this on hand. It is also wonderful for making lunch bags!
