Evenly Spaced Pintucks for Heirloom and Garment Sewing
The Baby Lock 5-Groove Pintuck Foot has five parallel grooves on the sole that guide previously sewn tucks to space the next row evenly. Use a twin needle to create corded tucks (with cord threaded through the needle plate) or hollow tucks (without cord). The grooves accommodate different tuck sizes, and you can sew straight rows, curved forms, or cross-hatched patterns.
Techniques
- Corded pintucks with cord threaded from below for a raised effect
- Hollow pintucks sewn with a twin needle and no cord
- Curved tucks for bodice and yoke details
- Cross-hatched patterns for texture on blouses and linens
