Turn a Charm Pack Into a Garment Applique
The J. Minnis Designs Charming Applique Double Aster Block (JMD-218) is a pattern for a fused applique block that decorates a pre-made sweatshirt, T-shirt, or denim jacket. It comes together from 5" charms, so it is a fast way to use a charm pack or leftovers from another project.
Because the block is fused rather than pieced, there are no tricky Y seams to work around. Detailed instructions with full-color photos walk you through each step at an advanced-beginner level. The finished block measures 10-1/2" x 10-1/2".
For the best result, choose a hoodie or crew-neck sweatshirt that is at least 50% cotton. It also makes a good group project for a quilting retreat. Pick your fabric and charm packs and you are ready to start.
