The Janome Continental M17 combines professional sewing, quilting, and embroidery capabilities with industry-first features. Dual LCD touchscreens, an Easy Open Top Cover with magnetic storage, and the SFS-I Intelligent Feed system work together for precise results. The machine includes Stitch Composer and AcuStitch PC software for custom stitch creation and editing.

Quilting Features

The AcuStitch Regulator (A.S.R.) is a Janome first. This stitch regulation system comes standard and includes four feet. Adjustable sensor sensitivity lets you fine-tune regulation as your skills develop. AcuFeed Flex Plus provides reliable fabric feeding for even the most challenging materials.

Professional Grade needle plate, HP foot, and HP2 foot deliver precise topstitching with excellent visibility. The all-metal flatbed offers 13.5 inches to the right of the needle, 5.51" workspace height, and 3.15" of clearance above the needle plate.

AcuStitch Regulator (A.S.R.)

Ample Work Area and Ergonomic Design

The heavy-duty powder-coated all-metal flatbed provides 13.5 inches (343mm) to the right of the needle. With 5.51" (140mm) workspace height and 3.15" above the needle plate, large quilts and garments move freely during sewing.

Embroidery Features

The M17 includes 1,230 built-in embroidery designs and Janome's largest hoop at 11.3" x 18.2". The hoop frame uses carbon fiber infused plastic for strength without added weight.

Embroidery Link provides wireless functionality through AcuAssist. Resize, edit, and position designs from a connected device without sitting at the machine. The embroidery positioning marker uses a laser to show needle position on the fabric before stitching begins.

The magnetic hoop and easy tightening lever simplify hooping. Storage compartments in the extension table arms keep accessories organized and within reach.

Quilting Hoop ASQ27d

• The included 10.6" x 10.6" quilting hoop uses Janome's magnetic design without an internal frame. Create edge-to-edge quilting designs and AcuFil quilting patterns with accurate alignment.

Wireless Embroidery Editing

• Embroidery Link lets you resize, redesign, and position embroidery from a connected device. Edit designs without being at the machine.

Embroidery Positioning Marker

• A laser shows the exact needle position on your fabric before stitching starts. Confirm placement and alignment without test runs.

Easy Tightening Lever

• Set fabric and stabilizer in the hoop, then flip the lever to lock. One motion for consistent, taut hooping every time.

Sewing Features

The Continental M17 includes 850 built-in stitches, 13 buttonhole styles, and 3 fonts. A 9mm maximum stitch width and 91 needle positions provide precise control for decorative work and topstitching.

The Thumbwheel raises and lowers the needle without reaching for the handwheel. Floating mode reduces presser foot pressure for delicate fabrics like velvet and silk. The variable zig-zag function controls stitch width via the knee lifter for hands-free adjustments.

Thumbwheel Needle Control

• Raise or lower the needle using the thumbwheel located to the right of the needle. No need to reach for the handwheel.

91 Needle Positions

• 91 needle positions and 9mm stitch width provide precise placement for topstitching, edge stitching, and decorative work.

Floating Mode

• Reduces pressure on the presser foot while feeding fabric. Protects delicate and high-pile fabrics like velvet, silk, and faux fur.

Automatic Needle Threader

• Load thread into the guides, press the threader button, and release. The needle threads in one motion.

Variable Zig Zag

• Control stitch width using the knee lifter. Adjust width hands-free while guiding fabric for applique and decorative stitching.

Technology & Engineering

The M17 features dual LCD touchscreens for editing and design. The main screen measures 5.3" x 8.5" and the secondary screen is 3.8" x 2.1". The SFS-I Intelligent Feed system and Optical Bobbin Sensor monitor stitching and alert you before the bobbin runs empty.

Included PC Software

• Stitch Composer lets you create and edit stitches on your computer. AcuStitch software is also included for stitch customization.

One Touch Needle Plate Converter

• Switch needle plates using the on-screen button. The plate releases for quick changes between straight stitch and standard plates.

Nine LED lights in four locations illuminate the sewing area. Three magnifying glasses at different magnification levels attach to the faceplate for close-up work and reduced eye strain.
