Odif 505 Spray and Fix Temporary Fabric Adhesive
The Odif 505 is a repositionable temporary spray glue made specifically for fabric. It holds layers in place for quilt basting, applique, sewing, and embroidery without pins or clips. The bond is strong enough to keep fabric from shifting but releases cleanly when you are ready to reposition or remove it.
Why Quilters and Sewists Use 505 Spray
- No residue on needles: The adhesive does not transfer to the non-sprayed side, so it won't gum up sewing machine or longarm needles.
- Odorless and colorless: Safe to use indoors without ventilation concerns. Will not stain or discolor fabric.
- Acid-free: Won't yellow or degrade fabric over time. Safe for heirloom quilts and archival projects.
- Easy cleanup: Washes out with soap and water. No dry cleaning required.
- CFC-free formula: Environmentally safer propellant.
How to Use 505 Temporary Spray Adhesive for Quilting
Spray a light, even coat on one surface from 6 to 10 inches away. Press the second layer onto the sprayed surface and smooth it flat. The adhesive stays tacky long enough to reposition if needed. For quilt basting, spray the batting and lay the quilt top over it, then flip and repeat with the backing. This replaces pin basting and keeps the quilt sandwich smooth through the entire quilting process.
505 spray also works well for holding embroidery stabilizers in the hoop, tacking applique pieces before stitching, and securing pattern templates to fabric for cutting.
