Bernette B79: Complete Sewing and Embroidery in One Machine
The Bernette B79 combines full-featured sewing with built-in embroidery capabilities. With 500 stitches, a 5-inch color touchscreen, Dual Feed, and an embroidery module supporting designs up to 260 x 160 mm, this machine handles everything from garment construction to decorative embellishments.
5-Inch Color Touchscreen
The centrally positioned 5-inch touchscreen provides stitch selection, thread tension adjustment, and embroidery design editing. Multi-function knobs on either side let you change stitch length, width, or design position without navigating menus.
Precision Needle Area
The 7 mm stitch plate supports decorative stitches up to 7 mm wide, while the included straight stitch plate produces clean embroidery results. Automatic stitch plate detection adjusts settings and shows compatible needle options on screen.
500 Stitches and Stitch Designer
Choose from 500 built-in stitches including 133 decorative stitches, 35 quilting stitches, and 17 buttonhole styles. The Stitch Designer lets you modify existing stitches or create original patterns, with settings saved to personal memory.
On-Screen Embroidery Editing
Edit 208 built-in embroidery designs directly on the touchscreen. Rotate, flip, resize, and combine design elements before stitching. Seven embroidery alphabets give you options for monogramming and text-based projects.
Spacious Work Area
The 230 mm workspace to the right of the needle accommodates large quilting and garment projects. Four bright LEDs illuminate the sewing area evenly, reducing shadows when working with dark fabrics.
Embroidery Module with 3 Hoops
The included embroidery module supports designs up to 260 x 160 mm without re-hooping. Three hoop sizes cover small monograms to large decorative panels. Automatic hoop detection displays the correct embroidery area on screen.
Integrated Dual Feed
The Dual Feed system moves fabric from above and below simultaneously, keeping layers aligned on slippery silks, stretchy knits, and heavy materials like denim or quilted layers.
Automatic Thread Cutter
The automatic tie-off function secures seams without reverse stitching. Press the thread cutter button to trim both threads instantly. Program both functions to the back-kick foot control for hands-free operation.
Semi-Automatic Needle Threader
The needle threader lowers the presser foot automatically and positions the thread for quick threading. A built-in thread cutter holds the thread in place during the process.
