It was time to up grade.

Mary and I attended the store BERNINA introduction. presented by Reva. Halfway through the presentation, Mary and I looked at each other and agreed it was time to upgrade.

I knew that there would be a learning curve. This was very easy. My opinion of the BERNINA B990 is nothing less than outstanding. It is a solid well built machine using the sewing or embroidery module. It is not necessary to disassemble the machine, embroidery module or the table when using it. The table needs to be removed when using the free arm. Embroidery hoops need to be calibrated prior to the first use. After that they are center on. Hoops are oval, not square or rectangle which I am use to. When stitching an embroidery design on a floating fabric, the template is very helpful. Not only does it have centering marks, but it also has stitching lines. The twist lock hoops have the stitching lines and the feet used on those lines. Basting stitches are accommodated as a one continuous line or when the square is larger than the hoop, each vertical and horizontal line is stitched, tied off then move to the next segment. The bobbin can be wound when the machine is in operation.To replace the bobbin, just open the front bobbin door, remove the empty bobbin and replace it with a new one. The machine does not have to be taken apart. The left front of the machine slides off to provide access to remove broken or frayed thread. And the need for oil and cleaning picture is displayed when it is time for a home service.

I am very pleased with my purchase and waiting to enter the world of BERNINA quilting on the B990.

The Bernina 990 makes sewing easy & Fun!

I've had several awesome machines, but I can say that this is the most user-friendly machine I've ever had! I have been using it almost every day and I've learned so much already. I have tested many of the stitches, and I've even taken the machine to a class. I struggle to learn new things on my own but this Bernina 990 is making it easy. I'm excited to learn more! My sister is laughing at me because she's never seen me so excited about a new machine!
