The Bernina Circular Embroidery Attachment #83 screws onto the free arm and creates circles and semicircles from 1 inch up to 5-5/16 inches in diameter. The center of rotation can be positioned to the right or left of the needle, and the attaching screw sits flat enough for fabric to feed smoothly over it.

Decorative Circles and Lettering

Set the desired diameter on the slide, pin your fabric to the center point, and secure it with the included rubber cap. From there, you can sew circles with any decorative stitch, utility stitch, or alphabet. This makes it straightforward to arrange lettering in a circle or create round decorative motifs for tablecloths, cushion covers, and quilts.

Tips for Best Results

Use 2 to 3 layers of stabilizer under your fabric for circular embroidery. This keeps the material from shifting during sewing. The attachment also works for applying ribbon in a circular path. Using the extension table increases the sewing bed area for larger projects.
