Bernina Darning Foot #9
The Bernina Darning Foot #9 is a versatile free-motion foot that handles darning, embroidery, contour quilting, and monogramming. Its hopper mechanism presses the sole firmly against the fabric during each stitch, preventing the material from riding up with the needle. Between stitches, the foot lifts so you can move the fabric freely in any direction.
Repair and Decorative Work
Small holes and tears practically repair themselves with this foot. The spring pressure keeps the fabric flat over the damaged area while you fill in the gap with stitches. The same mechanism works for free-motion embroidery, thread painting, and quilting where you need full directional control.
