The Bernina Drop-Shaped Embroidery Foot #26L is a free-motion foot with an improved sole design for better fabric control. Its teardrop-shaped needle opening provides a tighter grip around the stitch area, reducing the risk of the upper thread catching or breaking during fast free-motion work.
Spring Hopper for Clean Stitches
Like other Bernina free-motion feet, this foot uses a vertical spring (hopper) that presses the sole down on the fabric during each stitch cycle. This prevents the material from lifting with the needle, keeping stitch formation clean and consistent. The drop shape of the sole gives it a slight advantage over round-sole embroidery feet when working on tightly curved designs.
