The Bernina Lap Seam Foot #71 is designed for creating flat-felled (lap) seams, the strong, enclosed seam type found on jeans, sportswear, and reversible garments. The foot folds the raw edge under and stitches it down in a single pass, eliminating the need to fold and press manually before sewing.
Strong, Clean Finish in One Step
Flat-felled seams enclose the raw edges inside the seam, making them neat on both sides of the fabric. This foot handles medium to heavy fabrics including denim, canvas, and linen. The folding mechanism built into the foot does the precise folding work as you feed the fabric through.
