Bernina Ruffler #86 w/ Adapter
The Bernina Ruffler #86 takes the guesswork out of creating uniform ruffles and pleats. Pleat depth and gathering frequency are set directly on the attachment, and it can place a pleat at every stitch, every 6th stitch, or every 12th stitch. Setting the ruffler to zero lets you sew without pleating, so there is no need to swap the foot between operations.
How It Works
A gathering blade catches fabric on each needle stroke and feeds it under the needle in controlled amounts. This produces evenly spaced pleats across the full length of the fabric. Pleat depth is continuously adjustable, so you can dial in anything from a subtle gather to a deep, structured pleat.
