Does the Brother VE2300 sew as well as embroider?
The VE2300 is a dedicated embroidery machine, built for embroidery only. That is what buys you the 8" x 12" field and the placement tools at this price. If you want one machine that both sews and embroiders, look at the Brother VM5200, which shares the same 318 designs and 8" x 12" embroidery area and adds 715 sewing stitches.
How large a design can the VE2300 stitch, and which hoops are included?
The maximum embroidery area is 8" x 12", enough for a jacket back or a large quilt block in one hooping. Two embroidery frame sets are in the box: an 8" x 12" (SA447) and a 5" x 7". Larger designs can be split across hoopings on screen.
How does the VE2300 help place a design exactly where I want it?
Two tools work together. The Ultrasonic Sensor Pen lets you touch the fabric at the point the design should sit, and the machine moves the pattern there.
