The 8.3" needle-to-arm distance and included wide table give you room to handle small to mid-size quilts without fighting the fabric. The 4.1" x 8.3" workspace keeps your project flat and accessible during free-motion quilting and piecing.
Longer feed dogs paired with a J foot provide stronger, more consistent fabric feeding. This means smoother stitching through multiple quilt layers and better stitch consistency across varying thicknesses.
290 Built-in Stitches with My Custom Stitch
The stitch library includes 290 built-in stitches with 58 combinable stitches, 10 styles of one-step auto-size buttonholes, and 5 sewing lettering fonts. The Brother-exclusive My Custom Stitch feature lets you combine and edit built-in stitches with your own designs to create a personalized stitch library.
Sideways sewing expands your creative options for decorative borders and pattern work that standard forward-only machines can't match.
Quilting-Friendly Features
The Automatic Height Adjuster (AHA) keeps presser foot pressure consistent across different fabric thicknesses, maintaining uniform stitch quality on layered quilts. The pivot function makes it easy to turn corners cleanly without lifting the presser foot.

The straight stitch plate and foot are designed for thin fabrics where a round needle hole produces cleaner, more precise stitches than a standard zigzag plate.
