The Janome SewSwitch 30 combines a 30-stitch sewing machine with an integrated overlock cutter, so garment construction and edge finishing happen on one machine instead of two. A rear/side trimming blade cuts and finishes edges simultaneously while you sew.

What does the SewSwitch 30 actually switch between?
It is one machine that does everyday sewing and overlock edge finishing. A lever moves you between the two, so you can construct a seam and then neaten the raw edge without setting up a separate serger. The overlock side is a 2-thread system with the needle set in either the right or left position.
Do I still need a separate serger?
For most garment sewing, no. The SewSwitch 30 trims and overcasts the edge as you sew, with adjustable cutting width and feed length so you can tune the finish to the fabric. A dedicated serger still wins on speed and on 4-thread stitches, but for finishing seams on everyday projects this covers the job in one machine.
How many stitches and buttonholes does it have?
There are 30 built-in stitches selected with easy navigation buttons and shown on a 2-digit LED screen, plus 3 built-in buttonhole stitches with the Sensor Buttonhole feature, which reads the button and sizes the buttonhole for you. A front reference panel shows the stitch chart so you are not hunting through a manual.
How fast does the SewSwitch 30 sew?
