There are 300 built-in stitches at up to 9mm wide, with 11 one-step buttonholes and on-screen monogramming. You can chain stitch combinations up to 100 stitches long and recall the last stitch you used, so a sequence you build for one project is still there when you come back to it.
What is AcuFeed Flex and when does it matter?
AcuFeed Flex is Janome's dual feed system: the fabric is driven from above as well as from below, instead of relying on the feed dogs alone. It matters on anything that shifts, so quilt sandwiches, vinyl, knits, plaids and stripes all stay aligned instead of the top layer creeping ahead of the bottom one.
How much room is there for quilting?
There is 8.34 inches of workspace to the right of the needle, which handles a lap quilt comfortably. Drop feed and a 1-step plate converter with sensor set the machine up for free-motion work, and the auto foot lift with pivot function holds the needle down and raises the foot when you stop, which keeps appliqué corners square.
Does the touchscreen make it complicated to use?
