Is the Juki TL-18QVP Haruka a straight-stitch machine?
Yes. The Haruka sews a straight stitch only at a variable 55 to 1,500 stitches per minute, with a maximum stitch length of 6mm. Its vertical full-rotary hook is built for long seams, piecing and free-motion quilting.
What does the Float Function do?
The Float Function (micro-lifter) keeps the presser foot slightly raised so thick seams and layered quilts pass under it without stalling. With up to 12mm of clearance from the knee lifter, bulky quilt sandwiches fit under the foot with room to spare.
How much room is there for quilting?
The Haruka has 8.5" of throat space to the right of the needle, and the included auxiliary table measures 23 x 14 in. A 4-step adjustable LED light keeps the stitching area well lit.
What needles and presser feet does it use?
It takes HA x 1 (130/705H) or HL x 5 needles in sizes #9 to #18 and has a high shank. Seven presser feet are included, along with a quilt guide for dual feed that spaces parallel quilting lines evenly.
