Light Support for Low Stitch Count Designs
OESD Light Weight TearAway is the backing to reach for when the fabric is light and the design is not dense. It gives just enough support to keep stitches even, then comes away with very little effort, so a delicate ground fabric is not pulled out of shape while you remove it.
Quilters also use it well beyond embroidery. It is a common choice for paper piecing quilt blocks, where a stable but easily torn foundation is exactly what the technique needs. For denser designs or heavier ground fabric, step up to a medium or heavy weight instead.
Choosing the Right Weight
Match the stabilizer to the stitch count first and the fabric second. Light weight suits open designs and lighter wovens. See the rest of the range in our embroidery stabilizers collection, or browse everything in the OESD supplies lineup.
