Multi-Cord Couching and Pintuck Effects
The Pfaff 7/9 Hole Cord Foot channels multiple cords or narrow yarns through holes in the foot and under the sole, where they are stitched down in a single pass. The number of cords you can run depends on their weight: up to nine fine cords or seven heavier ones. The IDT system feeds the cords and fabric together for consistent results.
Techniques
- Corded pintucks using a twin needle with cords threaded through the foot
- Decorative couching where cords are stitched down with a zigzag or decorative stitch
- Multi-strand embellishments for garment borders, yokes, and bodice details
- Works with perle cotton, narrow yarn, cording, and similar materials
For a three-cord option with wider spacing, see the Pfaff Three-Hole Yarn Foot.
