Soft Chenille Textures by Machine
The Pfaff Chenille Foot guides and stitches down multiple layers of narrow fabric strips using the IDT system. After stitching, you cut between the stitch lines and wash or brush the fabric to fray the top layers into soft, raised chenille. This foot keeps the strips aligned and feeds all layers evenly, so your stitch lines stay straight and spacing stays consistent.
Steps
- Layer 4-6 strips of fabric on top of a base fabric
- Stitch parallel rows through all layers using straight stitch
- Cut between stitch lines through the top layers only
- Wash and brush to fray and fluff the chenille texture
Great for quilt borders, pillow fronts, and wearable art. For another textured technique, see the Pfaff Candlewicking Foot.
