Bernina Gathering Foot #16
The Bernina Gathering Foot #16 gathers lightweight to medium weight fabric automatically while sewing. The special indentation in the sole creates the uneven feed that pulls fabric into soft gathers. You can gather a single layer on its own or gather and sew it to a flat piece of fabric in the same operation.
Control the Gather Amount
Stitch length, tension, and fabric weight all affect how much the fabric gathers. Longer stitches and lighter fabrics produce fuller gathers. Test on scrap fabric first to find the right settings for your project.
