BERNINA Q20 / Q24: Swiss-Engineered Longarm Quilting on Frame
The BERNINA Q20 and Q24 bring Swiss precision to longarm quilting with integrated BSR stitch regulation, full front operation, and the largest usable quilting space in their respective categories. Choose the Q20 with its 20-inch throat for detailed work, or the Q24 with 24 inches of depth for king-size quilts. Both machines mount on BERNINA PRO Frames in Small, Classic, or Large sizes.
Choose Your Throat Space
The Q20 offers 20 inches of throat depth for quilters who prefer precise control on detailed motifs. The Q24 provides 24 inches of working space and accommodates quilts up to 115 inches wide on the Large PRO Frame. Both machines share the same feature set and Swiss engineering.
Full Front Operation
All controls are positioned at the front of the machine for fully front-operated quilting. The ergonomic handlebars provide comfortable grip during extended sessions, and the front-mounted handwheel allows manual needle positioning without reaching around the machine.
4.3-Inch Color Touchscreen
The 4.3-inch touchscreen displays stitch settings, tension values, and BSR mode selection. Save up to five customizable user profiles for different thread and fabric combinations. The built-in stitch counter tracks your progress, and maintenance tutorials guide routine care.
BERNINA Stitch Regulator (BSR)
The integrated BSR uses dual optical sensors on each side of the needle plate to track machine and fabric movement with precision. Choose from four modes: three regulated settings (including baste) and a manual mode for full speed control. Stitches stay consistent regardless of quilting speed or motif complexity.
50 LED Workspace Lights
50 bright LED lights line the throat space and needle area, illuminating your quilt surface evenly. The lighting eliminates shadows in the working area and provides sufficient visibility even in darker rooms, reducing eye strain during long quilting sessions.
Electronic Thread Tension
The digital tension system displays numeric settings on screen for precise, repeatable adjustments. The upper thread indicator monitors thread delivery, and the semi-automatic needle threader speeds up thread changes between colors.
KickStart Function
The KickStart feature enables continuous quilting without holding the foot control. Activate the function and the machine maintains speed until you stop it, freeing you to focus entirely on guiding the quilt pattern.
M-Class Rotary Hook
The M-class rotary hook accommodates large-capacity bobbins for fewer thread changes on big projects. The on-board bobbin winder keeps spare bobbins ready, and the machine accepts most domestic machine needles.
PRO Frame Options
Mount either machine on a BERNINA PRO Frame in three sizes: Small (8'10" x 3'11"), Classic (11'11" x 3'11"), or Large (12'11" x 3'11"). Variable working height adjusts from 35 to 47 inches, with optional hydraulic height adjustment available.
