Brother 1034D Serger
The 1034D is a 3/4 thread overlock serger with differential feed, which is what keeps knits from stretching and lightweight wovens from ruffling as they feed. It switches between 3-thread and 4-thread overlock, narrow hem, rolled hem and ribbon lock stitches, covering seam finishing on garments through to napkins and scarves.
Color-coded threading
Lay-in tension threading uses no eyelets, so the thread drops into place rather than being fed through a series of holes. The lower looper is self-threading behind a single door, which removes the step most people find fiddly on a serger. Two-point tension control adjusts each needle separately.
1,300 stitches per minute with differential feed
Stitch width adjusts from 3.0 to 7.0 mm, and the overlock seam runs 5.0 to 7.0 mm wide. Differential feed is the control that prevents puckering on knits and ruffling on light wovens, and the free arm makes cuffs and sleeves manageable. A retractable knife guard protects fabric you do not want trimmed.
