The Juki HZL-DX5 is a computerized sewing and quilting machine built around Juki's industrial box feed system. It handles heavy denim, layered quilts, and fine fabrics with consistent stitch quality and quiet operation.

Fabric Handling

The box feed system from Juki's industrial line moves fabric in a square motion for even feeding without shifting. A float function lifts the presser foot slightly (adjustable to 0.1mm) for bulky or layered fabrics to prevent distortion. The straight stitch slide plate switches to a single needle hole to prevent lightweight fabrics from being pulled into the feed dogs.

Industrial Box Feed System

Standard home machines move the feed dogs in an oval. The DX5's box feed moves them in a square, keeping the fabric in contact with the feed dogs longer for more consistent feeding. This makes the biggest difference on heavy materials, thick seams, and multiple layers where standard machines can slip or shift.
