IDF (Interchangeable Dual Feed) feet have a little cutout in the back to make room for the built-in dual feed system mechanism. Standard snap-on feet fit a wider range of Viking models, but do not allow the dual feed to be engaged while sewing.

• Clear Open Toe Free-Motion Foot: Maximum visibility for detailed free-motion work.
• Stitch in the Ditch Foot: Guides stitching directly into seam lines.

If your Viking has the built-in IDF (Interchangeable Dual Feed) system, you already have integrated dual feed and shouldn't need a separate walking foot. The IDF system feeds fabric evenly from above and below without any extra attachments. For Viking models without IDF, the Interchangeable Dual Feed Walking Foot is recommended for quilting, sewing knits, or working with multiple layers. It prevents fabric shifting and puckering.
