FAQs

What is the difference between the Juki MO-2000QVP and MO-654DE?

Both are 2/3/4 thread sergers, but the MO-2000QVP adds air threading, which pushes thread through the loopers automatically. The MO-654DE requires manual threading, but is more portable. If threading frustration is a concern, the MO-2000QVP eliminates that. If you want a budget-friendly serger that gets the job done, the MO-654DE is a strong choice.

What is air threading on a serger?

Air threading uses a burst of air to push thread through the looper paths automatically. On a traditional serger, you thread the loopers by hand through a series of small guides, which is the most time-consuming part of setup. Air threading reduces this to pressing a button. The Juki MO-2800 and MO-2000QVP both feature air threading.

Are specialty presser feet available for Juki sergers?

Yes. Juki makes several specialty feet for the MO-1000 and MO-2000 serger series, including beading, piping, cording, and elasticator feet. These are available on our Juki Presser Feet and Accessories page. For feet that fit other serger brands, browse our full serger feet collection.

Do I need a serger if I already have a Juki sewing machine?

A sewing machine and a serger do different jobs. Sewing machines handle construction, buttonholes, and decorative stitching. Sergers trim, enclose, and finish seam edges in one pass, and create stretchy seams for knit fabrics. Most garment sewists use both. If you sew clothing or work with knits regularly, a serger will speed up your finishing and produce cleaner results. Browse Juki sewing and quilting machines to pair with a serger.

Does Quality Sewing offer financing and classes for Juki sergers?

Yes. 0% interest financing through Synchrony is available on qualifying purchases. We also offer serger classes covering threading, stitch types, and project techniques. Call (800) 687-5175 or visit any of our Washington state locations for details.
